Oppo makes the phone market selfie increasingly fierce when introducing the F3 Plus series. Compared to the previous series, Oppo immerses many features that add value to its own selfie phone, including a larger battery capacity, a more powerful processor and of course, selfie camera that rose with dual camera class in front.
Design
Design Oppo F3 Plus actually lacks something new. Just like the other F series, Oppo makes F3 Plus with a design that has become his trademark so far.
Body wrapped in metal material that makes it look looks premium. F3 Plus looks long enough (163mm) to fit in the palm of the hand. This is also because the screen size is jumbo, which is 6 inches.
For some people, its large size may be less comfortable grip, especially considering its somewhat slippery body if held without additional cases.
Weight 185g entered in the category of light. Oppo F3 Plus is also quite slim for the jumbo smartphone category. There are 6-point speaker holes at the bottom of the phone, micro USB slot and 3.5mm audio jack. The fingerprint sensor is integrated with the home button at the bottom of the screen and the response is accurate and fast.
Screen
The 6-inch F3 Plus screen features a resolution of 1,920x1,080 pixels and is already coated with Gorilla Glass 5 that protects from scratches and incidents from falling 1.6 meters.
The screen looks nice with good color reproduction. But perhaps, higher resolution in the number 2560x1.440p seems to be more leverage for the screen size of 6 inches.
The shortcomings, this display screen is less comfortable seen in very bright conditions. For example, when taken outdoor walks in the sun.
However, overall, this sleek screen displays good visibility, and its auto brightness settings quickly adjust to the surroundings.
Oppo also adds eye-protection mode on the display that lets users change the color of the screen to be more 'eye-friendly', especially in low light conditions. No less important, the screen response to touch is also good.
Software
On Oppo F3 Plus embedded Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with ColourOS 3.0.01. In appearance, there is no difference with the F1 Plus series. What should be appreciated is, Oppo maintains the softness of the software so that the operation does not feel heavy.
Opening and closing applications can be done quickly and perform various tasks run smoothly without lag constraints. Overall, the performance of F3 Plus may be said to be stable.
Oppo also buried a built-in security app that enables users to improve phone performance by clearing the cache, as well as an easy-to-use Avast-supported virus scanner.
Updating it to the Android version of Nougat will certainly provide more benefits on this device. Hopefully, Oppo will soon bring Android Nougat update to F3 Plus.
Performance
Equipped with octa core processor Snapdragon 653, 4GB RAM, and 64GB storage capacity that can be added by microSD up to 256GB, F3 Plus can handle almost most applications.
With many applications running at the same time and used to play games such as Super Mario Run and Crisis Action, and did not find the performance slowed down.
However, in continuous intensive use, the phone will start to heat up, so it is recommended that you close some applications or rest it a few minutes until the temperature is normal.
About usage durability, its 4,000mAh battery can be relied on for durable use continuously all day. If the user is not too intensive, the battery can even hold up to 1.5 days. Oppo also equips F3 Plus with VOOC quick charge technology that can recharge the battery up to 60% in 30 minutes.
For those who care about audio quality, F3 Plus has good innate speakers. The sound is clear when used to play music and movies, indulge when you enjoy entertainment on the phone.
Front camera
The main attraction of the F3 Plus is a dual camera on the front that became a mainstay for a self-portrait. This front camera is a combination of 16 MP and 8 MP.
8 MP camera supports wide angle with a 120-degree viewing angle so it can be used for a self-portrait with a wide background.
How to enable wide angle is to touch the icon of one person near the shutter button on the screen until it turns into two people. With a wide angle, selfie photos can load a lot of people in the frame. The photo background can also be more noticeable. Surely this will be fun when used while traveling and vacation, so we can self-portrait while showing the background was the picture. In addition, the wide-angle feature is useful for taking selfie photos.
While its 16 MP camera, to capture the usual selfie (with a viewing angle of 80 degrees). Both the 16 MP camera and 8 MP can capture a stable image. The color accuracy looks good so the color looks natural close to the original object. But under certain conditions, the front camera is sometimes over exposure.
Front camera offers many modes that can maximize the results of selfie photos or videos, such as Ultra HD, double exposure, time lapse, and the ability to record 4K quality video.
Rear camera
16 MP F3 Plus main camera equipped Sony IMX398 sensor with f / 1.7 aperture. There is no special feature in the camera behind. Oppo puts the advantages of F3 Plus on the front camera.
Nevertheless, the camera shots behind also did not disappoint. In testing, the rear camera can find focus quickly and accurately. At least this is visible from the results of a minimal photo focus or blur. But to take pictures in low light conditions, some photos look a little blur, especially if the zoom. For sharing needs in social media anyway, still okay.
F3 Plus fun to take pictures everywhere, especially when on vacation. Unfortunately, this phone has not pocketed IP68 certification that makes it dustproof and waterproof so that the photos are limited in the 'safe from water' area.
The large screen, a double camera for the charming selfie, premium display, stable performance and long battery life are some of the advantages to be considered from this device. Oppo clearly targeting selfie enthusiasts by highlighting the ability of the front camera.
